The year 2014 is the 70th anniversary of Shaanxi Normal University. During the period of celebration, the “2014 International Forum on Assistive Technology for Learning” will be held at Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an, China, on Nov. 21-22 ,2014.The conference is co-organized by School of Education, Shaanxi Normal University and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. As the hosts, we sincerely invite new and old friends whose research is in the special education and educational technology to come to this historical city of Xi’an for the academic exchange event.
I. The Conference Theme
The themes: Technology support on the learning of people with special needs
As in some other countries, China is at a stage of deep integration phase of Information Technology and Education. Using technology to explore new forms of teaching and improving information literacy of teachers and students has become important part of educational reform. With the rapid development of information technology, assistive technology in special education has attracted more attention to the government.The conference aims to enhance the learning of people with special needs through using educational technology. We sincerely welcome scholars in educational technology and special education from domestic and abroad communicate and share research experiences in assistive technology for learning.

VI. Conference fees
1.The registration fee is 800 RMB per person for international participants, which includes the fees of meals (from evening of Nov. 20 to noon of Nov. 22), airport pick-up, venue rental, and partial expenses for invited speakers. Graduate students' conference fees are half price.
2.The conference organizer has reserved hotel rooms, but the expenses are of the meeting representatives’ own cost.
VII. Conference proceeding
Important deadlines:
1.Conference abstracts are due on Oct. 20, 2014. The deadline for notification of acceptance is Oct. 30, 2014. The deadline of full papers is Nov. 15, 2014.

Requirements for conference papers
1.The types of paper may include empirical research, conceptual analysis, poster presentations, and exhibition.
2.The abstract should include the title, author name(s), organization, and e-mail address. File name should be in the format of “IFATL2014+abstract+organzation+name”, File name for full paper might be in the format of “IFATL2014+full+organzation+name”.
3.Submissions should be unpublished papers. Full paper format will be posted in our second announcement.
